Anyway, I just wanted to know how you were doing, if you were surviving this heat, and if you maybe wanted to do something sometime soon? We can hang out someplace with ice cream and air conditioning. I promise not a roof. I mean, unless you want to hang out on a roof, we can do that but I figured you might like, you know, something else.

Hello Ryhs!

The heat has been absolutely miserable but I'm doing my best to keep it together! I actually just recently had ice cream for the first time just the other day and wow it's really something else.

Going out for ice cream instead of alcohol sounds like a fun idea that will probably not leave us feeling QUITE so miserable and hopefully won't end up with waking up on a rooftop again heehee

Agreed, there's much better places to wake up than rooftops. Not that the view isn't nice, but...gritty. And full of sunburn.

You only just had ice cream for the first time? Wow. I guess you know what you've been missing out on now. =) I will never say no to ice cream, or slushies. Especially in this weather. And there's so many flavors that you won't run out of things to try anytime soon.

We could probably find a nice air-conditioned movie theater, too, if that appeals to you. Lots of options.

And it's HELL on your back. I think my neck is stil la little sore.

I had vanilla with chocolate chips. It was delicious but I kind of got a headache. Apparently you can't eat it too fast or that happens

Anyway ice cream and a movie could be fun- [Apparently she didn't know what ice cream was but did know what movies are.] -but I was hoping for something a bit more private if you take my meaning

Tell you what. There's a lot of really nice little hotels along the water, maybe we could check into one of those, bring a bunch of really good take-out, and relax there, watch whatever movies we can get on TV and see where it goes from there?

I think the proper order of things is

1 watch a movie
2 get ice cream
3 visit a hotel
4 see what happens

[Her memories of that first trip to Marilla were still spotty, but Lin had a vague recollection of him promising her a good time.]

Okay, I can work with that. =D We can watch something ridiculous, feed ourselves, and then see where it goes.

[Rhys's memories are equally hazy, but he likes Lin and it does sound completely like him to promise a good time. He's easy company, and not shy in the least.]

The other movie I saw had something to do about the undead. Zombies or something. So like

No zombie movies, no problem. We can find something lighter with some action, maybe, Let you try a few different genres and see what you like.

I'm still learning what movies here are like, so it'll be an adventure for both of us.

Hi Lin. I wanted to apologize to you for giving you a hard time the other night. Unfortunately, I was an ass in my twenties and was of a mind to make certain everyone knew it. 😔

I like to think I grew out of it but Malachite thought we could all use a reminder, I suppose.

Honestly, I'm not sure if he's all right? I didn't know some of those people. I just sort of acquired them picking fights around town?

I like to think of myself as someone who doesn't carry grudges. It sounds like you KNOW you used to be an asshole and you're trying to be Less That, so you're fine in my book

Anyway I didn't hit him THAT hard. If I'd wanted to take him out, he would be taken out

I was a bit.... ah. Adrift for a while. I lost several close family members all at once when I was 19. Decided to take it out on everyone else. Eventually grew up? I did take my sweet time first though. 5 years in jail and then some.

He's probably all right then. I didn't hear about any wrecks that night either.
